LOT 566Krzyston Photo Realist oil painting Navajo RugEstimate: $500 - $1000 Realized: $1250 Sue Krzyston (American, b. 1948), "From People of the Earth," oil on canvas, 17 1/2" x 23 1/2". Signed and dated '92 in lower right corner. In mint condition. A stunning painting when seen by the eye, very life like image. Krzyston has passion for still lifes of Southwest Indian artifacts, she paints them with a keen awareness of detail and the use of dramatic lighting, often with very dark backgrounds. Mountain Trails Gallery in Sedona had a special showing of her work in October 1998 and in 1999. |
