Ego Stengods Sweden Pottery Peacock Wall Plaque

Estimate: $50 - $150
Realized: $150

Ego Stengods Sweden; molded pottery peacock wall plaque. Marked with impressed stamp; "Ego Stengods, HS". 10" x 10". Excellent condition.  "stengods is simply the Swedish word for stoneware and Ego Stengods was the name of the studio started by Gösta Olofsson in the small town Lidköping in the mid 60s. The signature HS would be the designer Heinz Schlichting and to my knowledge Gunnar Nylund had nothing to do with Ego Stengods. The studío was later run by Gösta Olofsson's son and was closed in the mid 80s. "  information provided by a generous "Swedish browser" in March, 2009
