Cyrenius Hall (American, 1830-1904), Landscape, oil on canvas, signed lower right. 18" x 30". Some minor, old in-painting, unframed, small puncture and worn through at stretcher.

Hall was an itinerant artist who painted Western landscapes in a lumanistic style. He went to Portland in 1853 over the Oregon Trail. From there he executed views of Mount Hood and Mount Ranier. His portrait of Chief Joseph hung in the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. Biography from AskART.
