 Embed this image:  | LOT 1374John Vassos Painting on Aluminum Mod Tennis MatchEstimate: $1500 - $2500 Realized: $0 John Vassos (Greek/American, 1898-1985), tennis match, enamel on aluminum; 28" x 28"; signed and dated '72 lower right. Artist info verso. Minor damage to right field near edge and minor damage and paint loss to upper left corner. Vassos was a noted American industrial and graphic designer. In 1924 he moved to New York and opened his own studio. Vassos worked on theater designs and later in advertising and illustrations. He was also an employee of RCA for over 40 years. |
