An exceptional Bakongo helmet mask; Bakongo, Yombe subgroup, D.R. Congo, (Ngoboudi). Exception three quarter helmet mask with classical Bakongo features. Rendered naturalistically with grinning face and remains of original pigmentation. One of only three known examples of the sub-type. Exceptional patina with signs of wear and use.
