Louis Vuitton steamer trunk owned by Samuel Osbourne, stepson of Robert Louis Stevenson Exterior: Lock serial number 064648. Covered in LV monogram canvas. Nail heads stamped "Louis Vuitton". Small latches stamped "LV" and numbered 102. Hasp stamped " 70 Champs Elysees Paris Louis Vuitton London 149 New Bond Street Made in France." Exterior leather stamped "Paris Louis Vuitton Made in France London."
Remnants of travel labels on exterior. The names of the original owners, Samuel Osbourne and Yvonne Payerne, are stenciled on the front. Osbourne was the stepson of Robert Louis Stevenson. Remnants of tape are covering his mistress' name.
Interior: Label reads "Louis Vuitton 176310 Paris 70 Champs Elysees, 149 New Bond Street London W. Nice 4 Jardin Albert 1st, Lille 36 Rue Faiderbe." Interior tufted lid with brass nails; the ribbon bands are woven/embroidered "Louis Vuitton." Two stacking interior trays with linen straps woven with "Louis Vuitton," and brass buckles stamped "Louis Vuitton Prevete"
23" H x 351/4" W x 203/4" D. Over all very good condition. The exterior leather strap is broken, but all parts are included. Some staining on interior lid and trays. Some tacks missing and linen is repaired at interior corners with masking tape.
