Jared Cru Smith is an upcoming graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University in the Furniture Design Program. He achieved his Bachelor's of Fine Arts at Herron School of Art & Design with a double concentration in Sculpture and Furniture Design. He has acquired and completed a commission for Village at the Fort in Lawrence, Indiana in the year 2011. Currently he works as a metal fabricator at IFAB, a fabrication company in Indianapolis, Indiana. His common materials consist of metal and wood along with various other materials. His work borders the line between furniture and sculpture by bridging the gap between the utilitarian and aesthetic.
