St. Louis artist known for figurative portraiture, as well as rural, and urban scenes that were influenced by the Ash Can School. Edmund Wuerpel was a great influence on him while he attended the St. Louis School of Fine Arts. In 1921, he took classes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago by day, and classes in commercial art by night. He also studied in New York City with Frank DuMond and John Singer Sargent at the Art Students League. Walcher was a member of the St. Louis Artist Guild, the Art Students League of New York City, and the Artist Equity of America. 19" x 24 1/2"
