Dear Bill,
Thank you so much for your assistance with selling the "big" items for Sullivan Munse. We really appreciate your taking care of all the details.
Thanks again,
Kay
Just wanted to express my gratitude for helping me auction my beloved aunt's prized dining room furniture from the days she lived on Meridian Street. Not only did the auction result in exceeding the anticipated price, but everything was handled very well. At a time when many people don't deliver what they say they will, it's nice to know there is a company that takes care of business!
Great fun, interesting and enjoyable experience and how much fun can a person stand. Keep them coming. Thanks
I had the pleasure of attending the Townsend auction on 12/3 and would like you to know that in my opinion it was the most professionally managed artifact auction I have ever attended since my first in 1979. The facility was good and all the staff were helpful and polite and the main auctioneer was quite good even though obviously inexperience at introducing prehistoric art. I sincerely hope that Antique Helper will be getting much more of this type of business and you will continue to manage it in a 100% honest manner. Your competition in this area is lacking in so many ways. There is a place in this world for Antique Helper. Be aggressive and take this place. William Koup
“What a thrilling auction! I have always been a fan of yours, but now I am a SUPERFAN! Congratulations on such spectacular results on the auction last Saturday of the items from the Estate of Bill Ansley. You did an amazing job, in record time, and made it fun along the way. I spoke to the executor this morning and she had nothing but glowing accolades on the auction, the process and your wonderful staff... The fact that you collected the items the week of Thanksgiving, produced a catalog, did the website and had the sale- in a matter of weeks- still amazes me. Your instincts about when to hold the sale and how to market it, even in this quick window of opportunity, were right on the money. No doubt your superior expertise in the glass collector community aided you, but that you have created a machine to support that, is terrific. I followed along the sale on Artfact. It was clear to me you put alot of thought into how the room was set-up, how the works were shown, the dress of the auctioneer and the staff, and the care they used in handling the material. Your firm looked so professional and smart. I was so proud of you.” Kathleen Guzman 15 years on Antiques Roadshow; President of Phillips Auctioneers; Senior VP at Christie’s; President at Christie’s East
In the spring of 2006 my wife and I made a major life change to spend our retirement years on Sanibel Island on the gulf coast of Florida. We placed our Indianapolis home with a local realtor and much to our surprise received an offer the first day that it went on the market. The house was filled with a life time collection of Americana, primitives, and folk art. Our intent was not only to sell the house but also to share the collection through auction. We were truly “starting over”, but had not anticipated such a rapid turnover. We knew Dan as a savvy dealer and collector who was very knowledgeable with much of the material in our collection.
On very short notice Antique Helper arranged an estate auction for the first week in June 2006. All of our precious, semi precious and hard to part with items were carefully catalogued, researched and photographed in preparation for the sale. Dan staged an intensive advertising campaign that reached all of the major antique trade papers. The ads were tastefully done and very informative. On the day of sale 24 members of his staff skillfully managed the main auction ring and a large tent sale of the remaining non catalogued items from the household. Bidding from the floor by an audience from throughout the country was supplemented by vigorous on line and phone bids.
We could not have been more pleased with the results, and highly recommend Antique Helper as the premiere auction house in the Midwest and on the internet.
Dear Mr. Ripley, 12/21/2009
Thank you very much for such a great auction experience. Although we have bid online and by phone, this was our first experience at your auction house. We were very impressed with how helpful and friendly Genevieve, Maria, and the rest of your staff were. It was very generous of you to provide lunch and snacks. We weren’t looking forward to going out into the weather to find something to eat.
We were very pleased with the auctioneer and the quality of the glass. We managed to get several pieces adding three new artists to our collection (ones we have been interested in for quite sometime).
We enjoyed meeting you and look forward to visiting your auction house again.
Our warmest regards,
Vince and Murielle Bennett
Dear antiquehelper,
I noticed eBay is telling us we need to give a good description of the items we are selling so the buyers will not have a problem when the item is received. Well, you definitely didn't describe this item ---how could you have found the words to describe the beauty of this Zanetti piece? It is awesome!!!. I have about 170 pieces of Licio's works and this is definitely a favorite. Remember our discussion about a piece some months back you were selling attributed to Toni Zuccheri and I sent you some pictures of similar pieces Licio had created and I really felt it was one of his pieces. Did you get a firm ID on that piece? Anyway thanks and a big hug to the engineer who packed box so it arrived safely.

I want to let you know how pleased I am with my recent purchase of the Murano glass sculpture of a flock of perched birds in a glass tree by Cammozzo from you.
The sculpture's shear size and vibrant colours are breathtaking. Simply gorgeous!!! I have it displayed inside an antique Victorian cylindrical metal birdcage and it is the centerpiece in my collection.
I'd like to commend John Sabol who looked after me through this transaction making it very smooth and effortlessly. Everything from payment and cross border paperwork including the expert packing of this huge glass sculpture was looked after. When I received and unpacked the bird sculpture from inside the 3 separate boxes, I knew all my concerns had been taken care of.
This is my second purchase from Antique Helper Auctions both being Murano sculptures.
Dan, I hear that Murano glass has been one of your specialties for many years and people seek you out whether they are buying or selling Murano.
I am now on your mailing list for upcoming auctions and will keep an eye on them. (As long as the pocket book holds out!! HA!HA!)
Thanks again Dan and John for a great buying experience.
Regards
Gerald Kendall
On behalf of my client, I would like to thank you and your staff for the professional way you handled the sale of my client’s artifact collection this summer. My client is an elderly woman who recently made the difficult decision to sell the artifact collection she inherited from her late husband, which had been in the possession of her late husband and his father before him for more than fifty years. When I was approached by the client about finding a reputable company to appraise and sell the collection, I did not know where to turn. I first communicated with the curator for the Eiteljorg Museum, and he named your company along with a couple of others for me to contact. I spent some time communicating with other companies and possible sale agents until I had the opportunity to speak to your staff. Bill Kranz was extremely helpful to me, my client and her family. He arranged a time to examine the collection at my client’s home and brought along an experienced appraiser of the artifacts in question. All questions my client or her family had regarding the artifacts were promptly answered. Ann Glasscock kept me advised by phone or email regarding any issues that needed to be addressed. My client felt comfortable and confident that your company was the right choice to sell her collection. Your staff took great care in packing, moving and cataloging the various items in the collection, many one of a kind artifacts. The catalog you produced optimally displayed the artifacts and was very professional in appearance. The advertising you arranged for the auction was specifically targeted to magazines and other media that would reach the people most likely to bid on these kinds of items. I was very happy with the large turnout that your targeted advertising achieved. The auction itself was a bittersweet experience for my client since she was selling family heirlooms with great emotional value to her and her family. Your staff was extremely sensitive to my client’s emotional state at the auction and their numerous acts of kindness to her during and after the auction to help her through the experience were greatly appreciated. DeWayne Butler did an extremely professional job of conducting the auction, which resulted in high bids for the items and a more than satisfactory monetary return for my client. I initially took on this legal matter with some trepidation since I did not know of a professional auction agent who could handle this type of sale with skill and honesty. My telephone contacts with other agents were not very reassuring. However, when I contacted your company, it quickly became clear to me that you and your staff were the right people to handle this once in a lifetime transaction for my client. Obviously, you have the highly skilled people to handle other people’s “once in a lifetime” auctions with maximum benefits to your customers and the peace of mind that comes with dealing with real professionals. Thanks again for your effort

"Received our two Lundberg vases purchased by absentee bids at your April 26th auction. They are beautiful pieces and a nice addition to our glass collection. We were pleased with your packing & shipping service. Thank you for a good first time experience with your auction house."

This thank you is for all the staff at Antique Helper. I really didn't know what to expect when I first called. Any doubts or fears I might have had were quickly pushed aside by everyone's professionalism. I greatly appreciate the kindness and personalized service as well. As for the auctions themselves, they succeeded beyond my expectations. I am so glad that I called Antique Helper. Thanks again for your personalized service. Please feel free to use me as a reference.
I'm so thankful that Dan and Jeb made the trip to Muncie las August and agreed to work with me to auction Dick's antique photo collection. I'm aware that not many auction galleries would have been as patient as you, letting me bring the auction items as I uncovered them hiding in the cabinets, drawers, and boxes in the basement...You've all helped make what seemd like an overwhelming task into an adventure, as each of you pitched in to make the auction a success. You're an exceptional team of talented folks and I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone who might ask. I really don't know how you could have done any more thorough job, at this time and in this place.
This is written to acknowledge the good work recently done by Antique Helper in selling a number of vintage household and decorative items for me. Dan Ripley and his staff carried out the work in a very effective, honest and ethical manner. They applied their knowledge of the antiques and collectibles market, with special expertise in objects of the early and mid 20th Century and in current hot collectibles, and identified the approximate values of th eitems to be sold. They identified some of the items that were of special value. They used their experience in determining the most appropriate of a variety of sales venues including, but not limited to, eBay and the Antique Helper gallery in the historic Midland Sash and Door building in Indianapolis. Throughout the process all of the Antique Helper staff were always very helpful(true to their name) as well as pleasant, likeable and cheerful. My experience working with Antique Helper was very enjoyable and satisfactory.
This April 2008 article was a great update to our first IBJ report in 2002!
